The RESITCHAD project, an initiative of the Chadian government, financed by the World Bank and for which the rapid impact phase is being implemented by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), was officially presented to local stakeholders in the town of Bardaï. The meeting, which brought together a wide range of representatives from civil society, local authorities and technical services, marks a decisive stage in the implementation of this ambitious project.

RESITCHAD aims to significantly improve the living conditions of the communities of Bardaï by strengthening their economic, social and climate resilience through improved quality and access to basic social services and economic opportunities.

Local stakeholders welcomed the Chadian government's commitment to promoting regional development through this major project. The health delegate for Tibesti province, Mr Ahamat Allafouza Djimi, particularly emphasized the importance of RESITCHAD for the town of Bardaï. ‘ RESITCHAD is a project of hope for the town of Bardaï, which is cruelly lacking in basic community infrastructure, and also a project that will enable the decentralised and deconcentrated services of the State to strengthen their technical capacities ’.

The local authorities and representatives of civil society have agreed to closely accompany the implementation of the project, participating actively at every stage, from the identification of needs to the evaluation of results. This close collaboration is essential to ensure that RESITCHAD meets communities' expectations and produces sustainable results.
