Our Work
Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Chad, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

As the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration, IOM supports the states to facilitate regular labour migration, integration and trainings for migrants in addition to carrying out activities for Diasporas relating to remittances, community development and skills transfer.
In Chad, IOM's work in Labour Migration and Human Development includes support for the development of the country's first ever study on labour migration dynamics, as well as technical guidance to the Government in the development of the draft bill for the protection of migrant workers and members of their families.
